Petroleum in Los Angeles
Los Angeles petroleum is big business, as most oil and oil related businesses are these days. Given the city’s proximity to some of the largest oil rigs and reserves in the country, the petroleum industry has brought many professional and blue collar jobs to the area, trying to combat the image of an industry only interested in profits. The rise in petroleum production is good for locals if gas stations get their supplies from local refineries as this keeps the cost of gasoline low.
